Two Long Island cafés were busted for allegedly having illegal gambling devices during a special operation by police. The busts took place in Nassau County in Garden City Park and Mineola on Wednesday, May 10. A 31-year-old man was busted with crack cocaine on Long Island after allegedly stealing a car that was left unlocked and running outside an area restaurant, authorities announced. In Nassau County, police responded to a stretch of Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park at approximately 9 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, where there was a report of a stolen vehicle. A popular chain of donut shops will soon open a brand-new location on Long Island. Duck Donuts announced that the grand opening for its first Nassau County location will take place on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 9 a.m. The new shop is located at 2425 Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park in City Park Plaza, representatives said. Police on Long Island have arrested a man who is allegedly responsible for at least 14 burglaries. Police captured the repeat burglar around 11 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11 while he was attempting to break into a jewelry store in Bellmore, said the Nassau County Police. Man Killed Crossing Busy Nassau County Roadway, Police Say
A pedestrian was killed while crossing a busy Long Island roadway. The 47-year-old man was killed around 10:25 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, in Garden City Park, according to the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, the 60-year-old man was driving a 2018 Jeep eastbound in the vicinity of 2349 Jericho Turnpike and when he struck the man who was crossing Jericho Turnpike northbound.
