Seven Thrown Into Water After Drunk Boater Crashes In Great South Bay, Police Say One person was injured as seven people were thrown into the water of the Great South Bay after a crash involving a drunk boater, police said. Javier Torres was operating a 19-foot center console Key West boat at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, July 14 south of Bay Shore Marina when a pump malfunctioned and the vessel began taking on water, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. Torres reportedly brought the boat to a hard stop, filling the boat with more water and causing it to capsize, police said.
