James Brown, age 43, of Mastic, was arraigned on murder and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the death of Umar Elquhir. Several people called 911 on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 7, after Elquhir was found unresponsive lying on the ground outside Brown’s home in the Poospatuck Reservation in Mastic. Long Island Man Faces Felony Charge For Driving With 38 License Suspensions, Police Say A Long Island man is facing a felony charge for driving with 38 license suspensions, police say. James Brown, 68, of Amityville, was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry in Copiague southbound on Ferraris Street, near Dixon Avenue, when a First Precinct police officer initiated a traffic stop for a broken tail light at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, Suffolk County Police said.
