73-Year-Old Struck, Killed Crossing Farmingdale Street A 73-year-old man has died after being hit by a car while crossing a Long Island street. The crash happened at around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, on Hempstead Turnpike in Farmingdale. Nassau County Police said the man was crossing the street just east of West Gate when he was struck by a 2014 Ford pickup truck. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. His name has not yet been released.
