Two Racehorses Found Dead After Fire Breaks Out At Belmont Stables A pair of racehorses died and three men were injured when a fire broke out in a barn on the backstretch of Belmont Park, officials announced. First responders were dispatched to the track at approximately 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13 when there was a fire reported inside the stables at the track on Hempstead Turnpike. Three Rescued From Nassau County House Fire By Police Officer Three people were evacuated by a police officer from a home on Long Island after police found heavy smoke coming from the residence. The fire took place at a home in New Hyde Park around 11:55 a.m., Sunday, Jan., 31, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, officers responded to a Flower Lane residence for a house fire. Upon police arrival, Officer Raymond Pescatore observed heavy smoke emanating from all windows of the home.  Pescatore then entered the home and was able to safely evacuate a man and two women.  There were no injuries reported.  The New Hyde …

Two Firefighters Hospitalized After Blaze Breaks Out At Nassau Restaurant Two firefighters were hospitalized after a blaze broke out at a Long Island restaurant. It happened in Floral Park on Sunday, Sept. 27 at around 6:20 a.m. Floral Park police responded to the Park Place Bar and Grill located at 41 Covert Ave. Upon arrival, police observed fire and smoke from the building that extended to at least 11 other adjacent storefronts causing substantial fire and smoke damage, Nassau County Police said.
