Gloria Monk, age 80, of Seaford, was killed when flames broke out at her Riverside Avenue home at around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, Nassau County Police said. One Killed After House Fire Breaks Out In Nassau County Authorities are investigating a house fire that involved one fatality and injuries to three firefighters on Long Island. The blaze broke out around 11:40 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20 in Massapequa at Bayview Street East.  Upon arrival by officers and members of the Massapequa Fire Department, the house was fully engulfed in flames, Nassau County Police said.  During a subsequent investigation, a man was located in a small room in the front of the house. Two Firefighters Injured During Boat Fire At Long Island Marina Two firefighters received minor injuries during a boat fire at a marina on Long Island. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 4 p.m., Sunday, July 12, at Green's Creek Marina, on Atlantic Avenue in West Sayville, said officials with the West Sayville Fire Department. Arriving firefighters found two boats heavily involved in a fire, but were able to keep the flames from spreading to other boats in the near vicinity.
