Man Killed In Overnight Long Island Expressway Crash In North Hills Police are investigating a fatal overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened around 3:15 a.m. Friday, July 8 in the village of North Hills in the Town of North Hempstead. A 1996 dump truck was traveling eastbound in the right lane of the expressway at Exit 36 when it was struck from behind by a 2013 Mack Truck tractor-trailer, causing the dump truck to overturn, Nassau County Police said.  The dump truck was being operated by a 59-year-old man who was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead at around 4:15 a.m. by a staff physician due to the injuri…

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25 in Uniondale. A 46-year-old man operating a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle was involved in a collision with a 34-year-old man operating a 1999 Acura four-door sedan at the intersection of Front Street and Chester Street, Nassau County Police said. Man Killed After Being Struck By Two Vehicles On Long Island Roadway A man was killed after being hit by two vehicles on a Long Island roadway. It happened on Sunday, Feb. 23 at about 9 p.m. in North Patchogue. The man was riding a bicycle on North Ocean Avenue, just north of Vehslage Street, when he was hit by a Nissan SUV driven by Ira Dunne, 42, of Selden, that was traveling northbound, Suffolk County Police said. The man was then struck by a second vehicle that fled the scene.
