According to Suffolk County Police, a 20-year-old North Amityville man was standing in front of a home on Emerald Lane South when he was struck by two bullets fired from a passing motor vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Suspect At Large After Long Island Man Is Critically Injured In Shooting A man is hospitalized in critical condition and a suspect is on the run after a shooting on Long Island, police said. Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department responded to a 911 call at 7:49 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, where there was a report of a man who was shot on Emerald Lane South in North Amityville. Upon arrival, officers found North Amityville resident Roland Jarvis, age 38, lying on the ground in a driveway after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
