Ex-Principal Lied About Relationship With Student, Faked Job Applications In Oyster Bay: DA
The former principal of a Long Island middle school has been charged with faking her employment application, leaving out that she had her license suspended years prior for having a relationship with a student.
Jessica Bader, who was previously known as Jessica Zimbler, faced her arraignment on Monday, April 1, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
Bader, age 52 from Nesconset, applied for a position as the Director of Humanities at the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District (OBENCSD) in March 2022, the DA’s Office said. She was hired two months later.

The ticket, worth $18,474.50, was sold at the BP gas station, located at 1200 Rockaway Avenue. Its winning numbers were drawn in the Wednesday, Sept. 6 Take 5 Midday drawing.

Lottery Winner: $50K Ticket Sold At This Long Island Store
A local Long Island store sold a third-prize lottery ticket, officials announced.

On Sunday, Aug. 13, New York Lottery officials announced that a third-prize winning Powerball ticket was sold at a Copiague store, Sny Enterprises, located at 880 Merrick Road.
The ticket is worth $50,000 and was part of the Saturday, Aug. 12 drawing.
Powerball game numbers are drawn Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Winning numbers are drawn from a field of one to 69, with red Powerball being drawn from a separate field of one to 26.

A brand-new report ranks all 50 states from top to bottom based on a variety of factors.
U.S. News & World Report released its annual best states rankings on Tuesday, May 2, and New York came in at -- drumroll, please -- No. 20.
Rankings were based on statistics in several categories, including economy, crime, health care, infrastructure, and education.
A total of 48.8 percent of New Yorkers are college educated, the report said.
New York has a median income of $43,462 and a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of just over $2 billion.

So far, the campaign in memory of the former educator has raised over $2,000.
The family of Dr. Grace Brindley, who her 37-year educational career working for the Miller Place School District. is asking the community to honor their beloved family member by donating to a cause she spent her life dedicated to: education.
According to her family, Brindley died on Tuesday, April 18 following a battle with ovarian cancer.
She was 83 years old.
