Man Struck, Killed While Walking On Long Island Street
A man has died after being struck by a car while walking on a Long Island street.
Emergency crews in Bay Shore were called at around 6:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, with reports that a pedestrian had been struck on Spur Drive North near Bentwood Road, according to Suffolk County Police.
Investigators said 87-year-old Jose Guaman, of Bay Shore, was walking westbound on the shoulder of Spur Drive North when he was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado turning from Brentwood Road.
Guaman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Robert Porter, age 55, of Kings Park, was sitting in an abandoned vehicle on First Avenue in Bay Shore at approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 when Suffolk County Police Third Precinct Anti-Crime officers Jeremy Reichling and John Tighe observed him in possession of cocaine, according to the SCPD.

Man Struck, Killed By Car At Busy Long Island Intersection
A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle at a busy Long Island intersection.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3 in Bay Shore.
Richard Going, 19, of West Islip, was driving a 2012 Mazda CX9 westbound on Union Boulevard, west of Brentwood Road, when the vehicle struck an adult man who was crossing the street from the south side, Suffolk County Police said.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified by police, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.

Long Island Woman Dies From Injuries Suffered In Hit-Run Crash
A Long Island woman who was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash that happened last month has died from her injuries, police announced on Tuesday night, March 3.
The crash happened Monday, Feb. 10 at approximately 6:15 a.m. in Bay Shore, Suffolk County Police said.
Mary Barbato, 74, of Bay Shore was walking on Moffitt Boulevard, near Brentwood Road, when she was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
