The North Patchogue Fire Department reported that crews responded to the blaze at about 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. Cat Killed In Long Island House Fire A cat was killed during a Long Island house fire that caused extensive damage. The blaze broke out in Suffolk County around 6:20 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28 on Jamaica Avenue in Greenlawn. According to Greenlawn Fire Chief Angelo Santomauro, first arriving firefighters reported heavy fire showing and transmitted a working fire.  Firefighters made an aggressive attack quickly knocking the fire down limiting any extension.  Once the fire was under control, firefighters went to work with search and ventilation operations.  There were no injuries, but a cat did perish in the fire…

Two Racehorses Found Dead After Fire Breaks Out At Belmont Stables A pair of racehorses died and three men were injured when a fire broke out in a barn on the backstretch of Belmont Park, officials announced. First responders were dispatched to the track at approximately 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13 when there was a fire reported inside the stables at the track on Hempstead Turnpike.
