Fatal Crash: Man Struck By Car While Walking Across Long Island Roadway
One person was killed in an overnight crash near a busy Long Island intersection. It happened at around 8 p.m. Sunday, April 9 in Copiague. A 61-year-old man was walking westbound across Great Neck Road, approximately 75 feet north of Oak Street, when he was struck by a southbound 2020 Toyota Corolla, Suffolk County Police said. The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead. 61-Year-Old Man Injured In Head-On Crash In Bethpage
A 61-year-old man is recovering following a head-on car crash on Long Island that sent two people to the hospital. Nassau County Police were called just before 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, with reports of a serious crash in Bethpage, at Hempstead Turnpike and Stewart Avenue. Investigators said the man was heading northbound on Stewart Avenue in a Subaru Crosstrek when he crossed into the southbound lane and struck a Kia Sorento that was stopped at the traffic light head on. 61-Year-Old Dies After Crashing Vehicle Into Tree In Bethpage
An investigation is underway after a 61-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash on Long Island. The crash happened on the southbound Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway in Bethpage on Thursday, July 28, the Nassau County Police Department said. A 2020 Subaru left the roadway and hit a tree between exits 9 and 10 at about 4:50 a.m., NCPD reported. Police said the driver was pronounced dead by a Nassau County Police Medic. NCPD did not release the man's identity. There were no other occupants in the Subaru, police said.

Man Struck By School Bus In Merrick, Hospitalized In Critical Condition
A 70-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a school bus on Long Island. The crash happened in Merrick at about 12:40 p.m. on Monday, March 28. The school bus with no children on board was traveling south on Merrick Avenue when it was involved in a crash at Benson Lane with a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck, the Nassau County Police Department reported. The crash caused the bus to travel east, drive over a sidewalk and strike the man, police said. Man Hospitalized After Suffering Medical Event At Nassau County Restaurant
A 61-year-old man was hospitalized after suffering a medical event at a Long Island restaurant. The man suffered the medical episode in Levittown at about 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, according to the Nassau County Police Department. When officers arrived, a nurse was giving the man CPR, NCPD said. Officers continued giving CPR, and the man regained and lost a pulse multiple times, police said. Wantagh-Levittown Ambulance Corp. also responded and began giving medical aid, NCPD said. The man was taken to an area hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said.
