LI Man Nabbed In Massapequa Park In Connection With Fatal Overdose
A Long Island man charged in connection with a fatal overdose attempted to escape capture by ramming police vehicles and injuring an officer. West Babylon resident Javonne Mimms, age 30, was arrested in Lindenhurst on Wednesday, May 18 in connection with the Sunday, April 10 fatal overdose in Merrick. According to Nassau County detectives, during the investigation at the Best Western Hotel located at 5080 Sunrise Highway, in Massapequa Park, Mimms intentionally struck a Nassau County Police vehicle with a 2018 white BMW, causing a detective to suffer a back injury.
