Caught Red-Handed: Would-Be Burglars Crash Into Cop Car While Fleeing Lake Success Scene Three  New Jersey men were arrested after they quite literally ran into police on the way back from the scene of a Long Island crime, police said. The crash happened on Saturday, Jan. 13 in the Nassau County village of Lake Success, according to Nassau County Police. Just before 3 a.m. that day, the three men reportedly attempted to burgle a home on Meadow Woods Road. Nassau County Man Busted With Drugs During Traffic Stop, Police Say A Long Island man has been arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop. Ralik Shaheem Petty, age 24, of Hempstead, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 3, during a traffic stop in East Meadow, said the Nassau County Police. Petty was busted around 3 p.m., when detectives, working as part of Operation Natalie, Nassau County’s War Against Opioids, spotted a white 2021 BMW traveling south on East Meadow Avenue.
