Woman Critically Injured In Chain-Reaction Crash On Busy Long Island Roadway An investigation is underway after a woman was critically injured in a chain-reaction crash on a busy Long Island roadway. It happened around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 in Bellport. A 2000 Nissan Maxima merged onto westbound Sunrise Highway (Route 27) from the onramp at Horseblock Road and collided with a westbound 2017 Ford F-150, Suffolk County Police said. The collision caused the Nissan to spin around and come to a stop facing eastbound in the westbound lanes, and forcing the Ford to strike the guardrail before coming to a stop several hundred feet away.
