Nassau County Police officers responded to Oswalt Place in Roosevelt Sunday, Aug. 25 at 5:36 p.m. where they discovered a 30-year-old male victim suffering from a stab wound to his upper torso, police said.
The defendant, Tyana Cooper Waite, 26, of Westbury, who was known to the victim, was located at her residence and taken into custody without incident, according to police.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Waite reportedly had her 3-year-old daughter with her at the time of the incident, said Nassau County Police.
Tyana Cooper Waite is charged with second-degree attempted murder, tampering with physical evidence, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
Waite will be arraigned Monday, Aug. 26 at First District Court in Hempstead.
