Teen Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle Near Long Island High School

A 14-year-old teen was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle at a busy intersection near a high school on Long Island.

The incident took place in Kings Park around 4 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, on Route 25A near Kings Park High School.

According to detectives, a 37-year-old woman was driving a 2016 Nissan northbound on Lawrence Road when she struck the teen crossing Route 25A, said the Suffolk County Police.

The 14-year-old, of Kings Park, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via Suffolk County Police helicopter in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

The driver, also of Kings Park, was not injured.
