Officers were called at around 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, with reports that two women had stolen merchandise from the Macy’s store in East Garden City, located in the Roosevelt Field mall, Nassau County Police said.

When officers arrived, they immediately arrested 32-year-old Samantha Signorelli, of Freeport, and 25-year-old Michele Brown, of Baldwin.

A third suspect, 36-year-old Amber Johnson of Bellmore, was spotted by officers waiting for the other two women in a 2019 Volkswagen, police said.

When a detective tried to stop her vehicle, Johnson intentionally struck him, according to police. She allegedly continued driving with the officer on the hood before striking a parked car, throwing the officer from the vehicle.

Signorelli is charged with grand larceny and had open warrants for criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to police.

Brown is accused of petit larceny and also had open warrants for grand larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and petit larceny.

All three suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Monday, Dec. 19, at First District Court in Hempstead.
