Officers from the Nassau County Police Department were dispatched to the Nassau University Medical Center on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Monday, March 22, where there was a report of a man who suffered serious injuries.
According to police, upon arrival, they found a man on the ground who was pronounced dead outside the hospital by a Nassau County Police medic.
Police said that the investigation determined that the man - whose name has not been released pending the notification of his family - determined that he broke a window on the eighth floor before jumping and suffering self-inflicted fatal wounds.
