A cash reward has been offered by Crime Stoppers for information that leads to the arrest of a man who allegedly stole a bag containing thousands of dollars worth of diamonds from a shopping cart at a Long Island Walmart.
Suffolk County Police investigators are attempting to identify and locate a man who allegedly stole a bag with diamonds from a shopping cart outside Walmart on Vets Highway in Islandia. The alleged theft occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23.
Police said the man left the scene in a black Toyota Tacoma with a roof rack. The diamonds have an estimated value of approximately $25,000.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers has offered a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information regarding the suspect or the theft has been asked to contact Suffolk County Police investigators by calling 1-800-220-TIPS or submitting an anonymous tip online.
