An alert has been issued as police attempt to locate a man who allegedly used another person’s information to purchase two puppies.
Suffolk County Police investigators from the Second Squad released a surveillance photo of a man who allegedly stole another person’s identities and purchased a pair of Yorkshire Terriers in Huntington Station last year.
According to investigators, the man opened a line of credit at The Canine Corral on New York Avenue, where he was sold two puppies on Monday, Oct. 28. After he left the store, it was determined that he had used another person’s information to open that line of credit.
The puppies had an estimated value of approximately $4,500.
In the photo released by police, the bearded suspect can be seen with the puppies wearing a jean jacket, white t-shirt, and jeans with a tattoo on his left hand. Anyone with information regarding the suspect, or who recognizes him has been asked to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.
