Bank Robbed For Second Time In Two Days At This Long Island Hamlet

A suspect is on the loose for the second time in as many days following a bank robbery in a Long Island hamlet.

The latest bank to be robbed in Farmingville was the Sterling National Bank.

It happened on Monday, Feb. 3 at about 10:10 a.m., Suffolk County Police said.

A man entered the bank, located at 696 Horseblock Road,  and handed the teller a note demanding cash, Suffolk County Police said.

The teller complied with the man’s demand and gave him cash from the drawer. The man fled the bank on foot.

The suspect is described as being a light-skinned-Hispanic man, approximately 5-foot-10, 200 pounds with a mustache.

The earlier bank robbery in Farmingville happened on Sunday, Feb. 2 just after 11:30 a.m.

That's when a man entered People’s United Bank, inside Stop & Shop, located at 2350 North Ocean Ave. and handed the teller a note demanding cash, Suffolk County Police said.

The teller complied with the man’s demand and gave him cash from the drawer, according to police. The man fled the store on foot toward Horseblock Road.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, approximately 40 years old, and about 5-foot-8 inches tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a blue ski jacket and a blue/gray ski hat.
