32-Year-Old Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Car On Long Island Roadway

A 32-year-old Long Island man was seriously injured after being struck by a car while crossing a busy roadway.

The incident took place in Mount Sinai around 11;10 p.m. on Route 25A.

According to the Suffolk County Police, Vincent Rienzie, of Mount Sinai, was crossing Route 25A, just west of Mount Sinai-Coram Road, from north to south, when he was struck by an eastbound 2022 Subaru Forrester.

Rienzie was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Subaru, an 18-year-old man also of Mount Sinai, was not injured.

The Subaru was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
