Savonn Dangerfield, 22, was arrested this week and charged with second-degree murder for his role in the fatal shooting of Jeffrey Lee, 23, in October, police said. Dangerfield was also slapped with a robbery charge for an unrelated incident.

According to police, shortly after noontime on Oct. 12, 2018, Lee was shot several times at the intersection of Dartmouth Street and Stewart Avenue. Following the shooting, Lee was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting came following an alleged fight involving Dangerfield, Lee and several other people, not far from the Head Start program, which is run by the Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County. Dangerfield is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 14.
