Mysterious Restaurateur On Way To Owning Montauk's Most Valuable Waterfront Property

A mysterious restaurateur appears to be buying Montauk's most valuable waterfront property.

Merkourious Angeliades who owns a Long Island City-based construction firm and restaurant in Roslyn is reportedly the behind-the-scenes buyer of Montauk Harbor properties owned by the Gosman's family, according to several media outlets.

The various properties that include Gosman's Seafood Restaurant are for sale for $52.5 million when first put on the market in 2016, according to reports.

Merkourios "Mike" Angeliades, 77, is a Greek businessman. 

He came to the United States from Symi, Greece, in 1960. In 1965, he founded ANT Construction. In 1969 he co-founded Magnetic Construction Corp.

In 1991, he founded MA Angeliades Inc., a contracting company for buildings based in Queens, says Wikipedia.

He is the owner of Kyma Greek restaurants in Roslyn, according to reports.

He is one of the original founders of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church in Roslyn, New York, says several reports.
