Snowfall Projections, Timing Updated For Quick-Moving System Packed With Gusty Winds
A quick-moving Alberta Clipper system will bring the first widespread snowfall of the season to much of the region. The time frame for the storm is Wednesday night, Dec. 4 into late Thursday morning, Dec. 5, according to the National Weather Service. Woman Ejected From Vehicle In Head-On North Wantagh Crash
A woman was hospitalized with serious injuries following a head-on crash on Long Island. The wreck happened in North Wantagh, near the intersection of Jerusalem Avenue and Canton Drive, at around 8:50 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2. A 59-year-old woman was driving a Ford westbound on Jerusalem Avenue when she hit a patch of ice and slid into oncoming traffic near Canton Drive, Nassau County Police said. Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Rockville Centre
A man was killed after being struck by a van on Long Island. The crash occurred at about 1:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, on Buckingham Road near Princeton Road in Rockville Centre, according to Nassau County Police. The 68-year-old man was crossing westbound when he was hit by a 2023 Ford Transit van driven by a 77-year-old man. Hearst Magazines has just fired around 200 employees, most of whom were assigned to the company's midtown Manhattan headquarters, according to multiple reports. Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Men's Health, Popular Mechanics, Town & Country, and Harper's Bazaar are among the titles the division of Hearts Communications publishes. Affected employees were notified in a private meeting days before Thanksgiving, according to New York Magazine. Massapequa 17-Year-Old Who Died During Hockey Game Was 'Beacon Of Sportsmanship, Leadership'
The Long Island hockey community is mourning the loss of a rising young star who collapsed and died during a charity game over Thanksgiving weekend. Connor Kasin, age 17, lost consciousness at around 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, during an intermission at the Town of Oyster Bay Skating Center on Stewart Avenue in Bethpage, Nassau County Police said. It's Been 2 Weeks Since 16-Year-Old Long Island Boy Went Missing
A teenager from Long Island has been missing for nearly two weeks. Darnelle Goodhall, age 16, of Central Islip, was last seen on Wednesday, Nov. 20, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black sweatpants, and orange sneakers. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York Sate Missing Persons Clearinghouse at 1-800-346-3543.
