Nassau School Bus Crash: 7 Students Injured After Vehicle Hits Patch Of Ice, Tree

Seven students ranging in age from 7 to 19 sustained injuries after the bus they were riding in hit a tree after hitting a patch of ice.

The crash occurred in Mill Neck around 8:20 a.m. on Frost Mill Road.

According to Brookville Police Supervisor Frank Discala, the bus, which was traveling to the Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, hit a patch of ice, and hit a tree. 

There were nine people on the bus, including the driver and aide, and the seven students, Discala said.

All seven students were transported to an area hospital for evulation and treatment of minor ailments, he added.

The driver and aide were not injured.

No ticket was written: "This was purely an accident," Discala said.
