Tractor-Trailer Bursts Into Flames On I-287 In Westchester
A tractor-trailer fire on a highway in Westchester caused a plume of smoke to soar into the air as the vehicle was fully engulfed. The incident happened on Monday, July 24 around 5:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 287 in Port Chester near Exit 11, according to the Port Chester Fire Department. When crews arrived at the blaze, they found the vehicle's occupants outside and knew the response would be prolonged because of the intensity of the flames, the department said. Car-Carrying Trailer Catches On Fire On Westchester Roadway
A tractor-trailer hauling several cars caught on fire on a Westchester County highway. On Wednesday morning, Oct. 19, the Purchase Fire Department responded to a fire involving a tractor-trailer on I-287 in the area of I-684, fire officials said. The westbound lanes were shut down in Northern Fairfield County between Exits 5 and 4 in Danbury early Friday afternoon, July 17.
