Man Charged In Stabbing Death Of Hudson Valley Woman, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been charged with the stabbing death of an area woman. The murder took place in Dutchess County in the town of Wappinger around 5:40 p.m., on Sunday, May 29. Paul J. Senecal, age 38, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Tuesday, May 31 in connection with the stabbing death of Melanie Chianese, age 29, of the town of Wappinger, said Capt. One Killed In Crash Involving Sheriff's Office Cruiser In Hudson Valley An investigation is underway after a person was killed in a crash involving a marked Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle. It happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 in Dutchess County, in the Town of Hyde Park on Route 9G at the intersection with Elks Lane. A pedestrian who suffered life-threatening injuries was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where the person was later pronounced dead, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. Four people were rescued late Saturday night following a 911 call of a water emergency involving Jet Ski watercraft in distress on the Hudson River in the vicinity of Norrie Point Marina in the hamlet of Staatsburgh in Hyde Park.
