Authorities are investigating after a 58-year-old was fatally struck by a vehicle at a Northern Westchester intersection. The incident happened in Yorktown on Wednesday, Oct. 18 just before 7 a.m., when a pedestrian was hit in the area of Old Yorktown Road and Strang Boulevard, Yorktown Police announced. Shortly after the crash, Yorktown Police officers as well as crews from Empress EMS, the Lake Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance Corp, and the Lake Mohegan Fire Department raced to the scene. Drunk Driver Caught After Crashing In Northern Westchester, Police Say
A drunk driver faces both charges and injuries after crashing in Northern Westchester, police said. The incident happened on Tuesday, Feb. 7, around 2 p.m., when officers responded to a one-car crash in Yorktown near the intersection of Strang Boulevard and Oakside Road, according to Yorktown Police. After arriving at the scene of the crash, police determined that the driver, 56-year-old Jeffrey Brideau of Poughquag, had been traveling while intoxicated and had unsafely moved out of his lane before crashing. Suspicious Van Prompts Investigation In Northern Westchester
Reports of a suspicious van stopping at Westchester bus stops that ran rampant on social media prompted a police investigation into the strange activity. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble said this week that his department has received information that was shared over the Internet regarding a white van that was “allegedly stopping at bus stops in the area that had children waiting for the bus.” The claims stated that it took place in the area of Fox Meadow Road and Strang Boulevard on Tuesday morning.
