Firefighter Hit By Car At Scene Of Vehicle Rollover In Hudson Valley: 'Please Slow Down' A firefighter was injured after they were struck by a car while responding to a vehicle rollover in the Hudson Valley.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, March 15, when firefighters and Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps members responded to a vehicle rollover in Carmel on Stoneleigh Avenue near Putnam Hospital, firefighters announced on Saturday, March 18. According to the Carmel Fire Department, first responders found that the driver had escaped from the rolled-over car themselves. Driver Hospitalized After Car Rolls On Side Into Woods In Hudson Valley One person was taken to a hospital after a vehicle rolled on its side into the woods in the Hudson Valley.  The crash happened on Friday, March 10 around 8:30 a.m., when police and fire officials responded to Stoneleigh Avenue in Carmel to a car that had veered off the roadway into the woods, according to the Carmel Fire Department.  After arriving, emergency responders found that a single car had rolled over on its side and that the driver had managed to free themselves.  The sole occupant of the car was then evaluated by medical personnel and taken to a nearby hospita…

Woman Charged With DWI After Route 6 Crash A woman from Southeast has been charged with DWI after a crash on Route 6, according to Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Deputies responded to a Putnam 911 dispatch regarding an auto accident in the area of State Route 6 and Stoneleigh Avenue in the Town of Carmel on Friday, Feb. 15 around 9 p.m. Further investigation revealed that one of the drivers involved in the accident, identified as 52-year-old Lisa Laureano of Southeast, was allegedly intoxicated.
