Ex-College Athlete Found Guilty In Stabbing Of Roommate From Northern Westchester
A 23-year-old Long Island man was found guilty of stabbing his former college lacrosse teammate, a Northern Westchester County man, during a dispute about a loud party.
Matthew Stockfeder was convicted on Thursday, March 24, of first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon in the 2019 stabbing of his then-roommate Justin Corpolongo, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

A co-captain of the St. John's University lacrosse team from Long Island was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his roommate, nearly disemboweling him, during a fight over loud music.
Matthew Stockfeder, 21, of Melville, who played lacrosse at Walt Whiteman High School, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 22, after stabbing his roommate Justin Corpolongo, 23, the NYPD said.
The fight began late Monday, Oct. 21, when Stockfeder woke up Corpologno, a Somers High School graduate, by playing loud music in their off-campus Queens apartment.

New Croton-Harmon School District Superintendent Named
Deborah O’Connell has been hired as the new Superintendent of Schools in Croton-Harmon effective July 1, the Croton-Harmon Board of Education announced this week.
Dr. O’Connell has served as the District’s Assistant Superintendent since 2011, responsible for K-12 curriculum, instruction, assessment and data initiatives, professional development, teacher observations, and contract negotiations. She has also worked on the District’s Strategic Coherence Plan, and serves as chair of the Culture of Respect Task Force.
