Man Accused Of Killing Wife In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after allegedly killing his wife during a domestic dispute.
Rockland County resident Warle Fernandez-Arias, age 37, was charged with second-degree murder on Friday, Feb. 23 in Spring Valley after his wife, Carolyn Canela, age 36, was found dead.
According to Spring Valley Police, Canela, who moved to the US from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, was found when officers responded to a welfare check at 149 Sneden Place West at their Hillcrest Point apartment.

Man Stabbed During Hudson Valley Attack, Suspect On Run, Police Say
Police are investigating after a 34-year-old man was found stabbed in the neck in front of a bodega.
The incident took place in Rockland County around 9:40 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 5 in Spring Valley.
According to Det. Yakov Polowin, of the Spring Valley Police, officers responded to the report of a fight at the Alizeh Food Mart, located at 22 North Main St.
When officers arrived, they located a Spring Valley resident with a severe laceration to his neck, Polowin said.

Hudson Valley Man Charged With Murder Of 28-Year-Old, Police Say
Police have arrested a local man for a homicide that took place more than two years ago in the Hudson Valley.
Rockland County resident Jack Ramirez, age 20, of Spring Valley, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 16, in connection with the killing of a 28-year-old area man.
According to the Spring Valley Police, Ramirez was nabbed following a two-year investigation into the killing on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, of Juvenson Paul who was found shot dead in a car.
Ramirez, who was already incarcerated at the Dutchess County Jail on unrelated gun charges, was charged with murder.

Man Accused Of Stabbing Puppy With Kitchen Knife In Area, Police Say
A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 2-month-old service dog with a kitchen knife in the area.
Rockland County resident Steve Salomon, age 32, of Nanuet, was arrested on Saturday, March 6, by Spring Valley Police, for stabbing a resident's service dog in the neck with a kitchen knife, said Detective Matt Galli.
According to Galli, the incident took place at the Gesner Gardens Apartment Complex when Salomon, who was known to the owner, stabbed the dog, then fled the area.

New Details Released On Condition Of Woman Who Died After Altercation With Cops In Rockland
A woman who died following an altercation with Spring Valley police may have been suffering medical issues before her arrest, police say.
The incident began around 5:10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, when Spring Valley police received multiple calls in reference to a "dangerous woman" in the area of 79 Fred Hecht Drive, said Spring Valley Police Officer Matthew Galli.
Callers said that the woman was allegedly "busting people's car windows," and "going crazy," Galli reported.
In addition, one of the callers said the woman was chasing callers with a stick, he added.
