Firefighters From Multiple Municipalities Battle Blaze In South Salem Firefighters from multiple municipalities in Northern Westchester battled a house fire late Sunday afternoon near the Fairfield County border. The blaze broke out on the 100 block of Main Street in South Salem. The Katonah and Ridgefield fire departments assisted the South Salem FD. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Quick Work Of Firefighters Saves Northern Westchester Home Quick action by firefighters from the Vista and South Salem fire departments saved a family's home following a basement fire. The fire started around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at 87 East St., in South Salem, according to Vista Fire Chief Jeff Peck.  Once on scene, firefighters found smoke showing from inside the home and quickly determined the fire was coming from the basement. After running hoses, firefighters were able to knock down the fire within minutes, Peck said.
