This story has been updated. A 38-year-old man was apprehended after allegedly trying to break into a home in a residential neighborhood in the Hudson Valley, police said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Thursday, July 11 around 2:20 p.m., when a domestic disturbance was reported at a home on Orchard Road in the Lake Secor neighborhood of Carmel, according to Carmel Police Lt. Residents Warned To Stay In Their Homes Due To Police Activity On Street In Putnam
Updated story: Man With Shotgun Takes His Own Life In Area, Police Say Some residents in Putnam County are being asked to stay in their homes due to police activity. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office put out the warning/notice around 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 23, to residents of Pudding Street in Putnam Valley "due to heavy police activity." They then thanked residents for their patience and cooperation but did not provide details as to what type of crime was taking place. Police officers in North Castle helped an area resident recover her dog after it got loose and was making the rounds in the area. An employee from the Byram Hills Senior High School reported to police at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, that there was a dog running at large in the area. Less than two hours earlier, a nearby resident reported to police that her golden retriever had run away from home at approximately 5:30 a.m. that same morning.
