Andrew Nachstein Of Mamaroneck Dies At 36; Avid Collector, Reader, History Buff Andrew Nachstein of Mamaroneck died on Wednesday, Oct. 16 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 36.  He was born on April 13, 1983, to Richard Nachstein and Adelina Portal. He was a graduate of Mamaroneck High School Class of 2002 and went on to attend college at Westchester Community College.  He worked as a plumber with UA Local 21 Plumbers & Steamfitters and was most proud of his fraternal brotherhood.  Recently, he began a collection of pins and stickers that he would trade with other members of the union throughout the country.  He had a genuine l…

Mount Kisco's John C. Hvisch, 94, Saw Battle At Okinawa, A Yankee Stadium 'Veteran Of The Game' John C. Hvisch of Mount Kisco died at his home on Friday, April 19 – his 94th birthday. John, the son of John Joseph and Mary (Gurrall) Hvisch, was born in Yonkers on April 19, 1925. He was a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp., enlisting in 1943 at the age of 17, and was a part of the Pacific campaign and fought in the grueling battle of Okinawa. John was awarded several citations, campaign medals and battle stars for his bravery, including three Battle Stars. John married Rosemarie Lewandowski on May 3, 1947; she predeceased him in 1988. Credit Manager Edward J. Ceglia Of Yorktown Heights Dies At 67 Edward J. Ceglia of Yorktown Heights died on Sunday, Jan. 14. He was 67. He worked as a credit manager for over 40 years. He was born in New York City on March 22, 1950 to Edward and Eleanor Ceglia. Edward graduated from Mt. St. Michael Academy in the Bronx then went to Iona College.  Edward served honorably for the United States Army National Guard.  He is survived by his wife of 44 years Ann-Marie and . their children: Danielle Cappelli (Robert), Nicole Kovacs (Lawrence), and Joseph Edward Ceglia (Stephanie).
