Michel Manuel Garcia-Rojas, 38, who resides in Albany, was charged with assaulting a federal officer in Albany federal court Thursday, March 6, following an alleged incident in Rotterdam.

A man convicted for a Westchester County robbery is finally facing justice after fleeing his jail sentence for his home country more than four decades ago, police announced.
Noel Hernandez, age 64, was flown back to Westchester on Friday, Oct. 18 to serve his jail sentence for a robbery in January 1981, the Westchester County Police Department said on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Sister Patricia Ann Maher died on March 27, at the Maryknoll Sisters Center in Maryknoll. She was 92 years old and had been a Maryknoll Sister for 71 years.
Patricia was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on January 14, 1927, to Helen Mae (Crist) Maher and Joseph P. Maher. She had two brothers, Gerald and Joseph, all of whom have predeceased her; she is survived by her niece.
