A school district in Westchester is contending with a new spike in confirmed COVID-19 cases as the region does battle with the spread of the Omicron variant of the virus. Irvington Schools Superintendent Kristopher Harrison issued an alert to the community advising that the district has reported 29 new COVID-19 cases between Thursday, Jan. 6 and Monday, Jan. 10. New COVID-19 cases have been reported in a Westchester school district that has been hit hard by the pandemic. Irvington Schools Superintendent Kristopher Harrison announced on Friday, Jan. 22 that a member of the Main Street School tested positive for the virus, while another confirmed COVID-19 case was reported at the Irvington Middle School. A Westchester school district reported nearly a dozen new COVID-19 cases that were confirmed in students and staffers over the extended holiday break.
