Late on June 25, 2021, in Putnam County, James “Jimmy” Crecco, Sr. was getting into his car outside his brother’s Lake Mahopac lake house on Route 6N when he was struck by Mahopac resident Maggie Deperna, who fled the scene after hitting him. Crecco was transported to the Westchester Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries sustained in the hit-and-run. Man Who Worked As Store Manager In Bedford Dies At Age 31 A Westchester native and local store manager who grew up in Putnam County has died at the age of 31. Thomas Schupp II, a native of White Plains, and a graduate of Mahopac High School, died on Monday, Dec. 20.  Schupp worked as the manager of the Wireless Zone in Bedford. Councilman Charged With Attacking Reporter In Area Carmel Councilman Mike Barile was arrested for allegedly throwing a water bottle at the head of a Journal News columnist and then stealing his cell phone after a Town Council meeting.
