Three suspects were apprehended in the act of allegedly trying to pull off a $100,000 identity theft scheme at an auto dealership in Westchester County, according to authorities. At around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, detectives were alerted by staff at New Rochelle Toyota that a possible fraudulent purchase of a vehicle was in progress at the dealership. New York Man Wins $1 Million Powerball Prize
A man from New York City claimed a $1 million Powerball prize. Nicholas Guerrero, of Jackson Heights in Queens, won the second prize for matching the first five numbers drawn on Aug. 31, New York Lottery reported on Thursday, Dec. 15. He received his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $612,240 after required withholdings, NY Lottery reported. The winning numbers were 07 08 19 24 28 Power Ball 01, the lottery said. NY Lottery said the ticket was purchased at Northern Liquors, which is located at 9420 Northern Boulevard in Jackson Heights.

Teacher From Hudson Valley Nabbed For Sexual Abuse
A New York educator who lives in the Hudson Valley has been charged for allegedly sexually abusing a minor in the area, state police investigators announced. The New York State Police Orange County Child Abuse Unit announced that Rockland County resident David Reinoso, age 43, of Suffern, has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse. An indicted Nazi war criminal -- the 68th and last one known to be living in the U.S. - has been deported from New York back to Germany. Palij, 95, was born in what was then-Poland and now Ukraine, and immigrated to the United States in 1949.
