A sidewalk construction project meant to improve students' commutes will impact traffic around a Westchester elementary school for months, officials said. The project, which is set to begin the week of Monday, May 6, will construct a sidewalk along Fair Street and Juniper Hill Road leading to the Lee Jackson School in Greenburgh, Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said. Busy Main Route Reopens After Tree Falls In Westchester
This story has been updated. A part of a busy main route in Westchester has reopened to traffic after being briefly closed thanks to a downed tree. Hillside Avenue (Route 100) in Greenburgh at the intersection with Valimar Boulevard reopened at around 4 p.m. after being closed for less than two hours after a tree fell on the roadway, Greenburgh Police said on Friday, April 12. The department said the road was reopened so fast thanks to "outstanding work" from the Town of Greenburgh Department of Public Works.

Four Hospitalized After Cadillac Escalade Crashes Into SUV, Bus In Westchester
A four-vehicle crash that closed a major roadway for several hours in Westchester left one man seriously injured and several others with minor injuries. The crash, between three vehicles and a Bee-Line bus, took place around 11:05 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23 in Greenburgh at the intersection of Tarrytown Road and Hillside Avenue. Citing a desire to improve air quality statewide, the Hudson Valley will receive $24.2 million in new funding for three projects that will support bicycle and pedestrian transportation. New York Gov.
