Hudson Valley Resident Lauren Whalen, Executive Assistant, Dies At 26 Hudson Valley resident Lauren M. Whalen, who worked as an executive assistant in Manhattan, died on Wednesday, April 18 at Presbyterian Hospital in Queens. She was 26. The daughter of Anissa McKechnie (Picarella) and the late Kevin Alexander McKechnie, she was born on June 15, 1991 in New York City. Lauren attended Sachem High School East in Farmingville on Long Island and The Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan.
