Over $2.7M To Go Toward Flooding Prevention Projects In Westchester: Hochul
Thanks to a climate-smart grant program announced by New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, several municipalities in Westchester will receive funds to go toward much-needed flood mitigation projects. The funds will come from more than $7.3 million to be given to municipalities across the state as part of the Climate Smart Communities grant program, Hochul announced on Tuesday, July 23. NY Officials Announce Addition Of 1,200 Acres To Three Hudson Valley State Parks
New York officials announced that a total of about 1,200 acres of parkland will be added to three state parks in the Hudson Valley. According to an announcement from Gov. Kathy Hochul on Thursday, March 3, the new parkland will be added to Hudson Highlands State Park Preserve in Dutchess and Putnam counties, Schunnemunk State Park in Orange County, and Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park in Putnam County. 130 Acres Of Open Space Added To State Park In Hudson Valley
State officials have announced the addition of 130 acres of open space to Sterling Forest State Park in the Hudson Valley. The park is located in the Ramapo Mountains in Orange County. The new property was part of the former Greenwood Forest Farms, an early 1900s resort considered to be the first resort community for Black New Yorkers, officials said. In an effort to preserve as much parkland and trails for public access throughout the state, New York State announced the protection of more than 260 acres of open space in the Hudson Valley. Gov.
