Here Comes Elsa: Tropical Storm Will Bring Heavy Rain, Gusty Winds To Region
Tropical Storm Watches have been upgraded to Tropical Storm Warnings along parts of the East Coast as Elsa treks toward the Northeast.
It will arrive in this region starting overnight Thursday, July 8, and bring tropical-storm conditions to portions of New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, mainly along and near the coast, into Friday, July 9. The storm will be out of the area by around midday Friday.
Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible, including the possibility of flash flooding, though the fast-forward movement of the storm is expected to prevent widespread flooding.

Hundreds In Westchester Left Without Power During Heatwave
The heatwave that has been crushing the East Coast left hundreds in Westchester without power as crews scrambled to make repairs as some systems became overwhelmed.
As of Wednesday afternoon, June 30, Con Edison was reporting 13 active outages, which were impacting 556 of the company’s 360,045 customers in Westchester.
In total, Con Edison was reporting 177 active outages that were impacting 3,502 of their 3,535,450 customers.

Sorry President George H.W. Bush, who once famously said, "I do not like broccoli," it is America's favorite vegetable according to a survey by vegetable guru Green Giant.
The company released the findings on Monday, June 14, from its annual survey of what veggies Americans are eating and in what part of the country.
Broccoli secured the No. 1 spot, yet again, as America's favorite vegetable, followed by carrots and corn.
