Family Dollar, Dollar Tree To Close 1,000 Stores
Discount chain Family Dollar and parent company Dollar Tree will close a combined 1,000 stores. Family Dollar will shut down 600 stores in 2024 and 370 stores over the next several years as store leases expire. Dollar Tree will close 30 locations as leases expire. Recall Issued For Air Freshener Products Due To Injury, Laceration Hazards
A company has recalled about 67,000 air fresheners due to injury and laceration hazards. Reckitt issued a recall of AirWick Fresh New Day aerosol air fresheners in “Fresh Linen” and “Fresh Waters” scents on Thursday, Nov. 3. The recall includes products with batch code B22077-NJ and date code 18/03/22, which are printed on the bottom of the can. The company said a batch of the products is missing a corrosion inhibitor, which can cause corrosion, rupture of the can, and expulsion of the can's contents. Clorox Recalls Pine-Sol Cleaners Due To Infection-Causing Bacteria
Parent company Clorox is recalling eight Pine-Sol disinfectant cleaning products due to fears they may contain infection-causing bacteria, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced. To date, testing has identified bacteria in certain recalled products, including those produced between January 2021 and September 2022. Clorox produced approximately 37 million recalled products in that period, the CPSC said. More than a million glue guns sold nationwide at dollar stores are being recalled due to concerns of fire and burn hazards, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced. A total of approximately 1,025,000 Crafter’s Square Glue Guns sold at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar stores sold between August 2020 and February 2022 are being voluntarily recalled after complaints were made by consumers. Dollar Tree is closing at least 390 Family Dollar stores and will rebrand 200 others, the company announced in releasing its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings this week.
