39-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley
An investigation is underway after a person was struck and killed by a train in the Hudson Valley. The incident happened at around 3:35 p.m. Friday, March 10 in Ulster County in the area of Winsupply on Morton Blvd in the Town of Ulster. That's when the Ulster County Sheriff's Office says a 911 caller reported the CSX train striking the pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 39-year-old man from Kingston, was pronounced dead at the scene. A car hauler was hit by a train in the Hudson Valley after the driver pulled onto one of the tracks, authorities said. The incident took place in Rockland County around 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, in West Nyack on Pineview Road. According to Clarkstown Police Det. Metro-North Announces New Safety Improvements, Positive Train Control
The MTA has taken steps to ensure the safety of Metro-North riders. Metro-North President Catherine Rinaldi announced that “Positive Train Control” has been extended to cover nearly 90 percent of the Hudson Line. Man Injured After Train Hits Car In Area
One person was injured after a northbound CSX train hit a car Saturday morning in West Nyack. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the Pineview Road crossing, Clarkstown Police said. The male driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to Nyack Hospital with minor injuries, police said. The investigation will continue to determine the cause of the accident, according to police.

Police have identified a man who was fatally struck by a train in Rockland County on Tuesday night. The Orangetown Police Department received a call at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, from a passerby who saw a man struck by a train on the CSX rail line just south of Bradley Hill Road. Officers arrived at the scene and tracked down the man, who has since been identified as Blauvelt resident Enda Caulfield, 36.
