A man who led police on a high-speed chase on several busy parkways in Westchester was caught after his vehicle suffered a flat tire, authorities said. The incident happened on Tuesday, April 18 around 9 a.m., when a Westchester County Police officer saw a black Mercedes driving at a high speed on the northbound Bronx River Parkway near the Cross County Parkway interchange. Nearly a dozen vehicles that were either stolen or associated with other felonies were caught traveling throughout Westchester in the span of a week, police said. A man driving a car stolen from out of state was caught after accidentally flipping the vehicle on the Cross County Parkway in Westchester County, police said. On Thursday, Jan. 5, police tried to pull over a car reported as stolen on the Cross County Parkway westbound in Yonkers, but the driver did not stop, Westchester County Police said. A 32-year-old man was nabbed with large quantities of cocaine and marijuana as well as counterfeit prescription pills during a routine traffic stop. A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident on the westbound Cross County Parkway at New Rochelle Road that has closed the roadway in Bronxville. The crash occurred 1:30 p.m. Monday when the motorcyclist appears to have lost control and crashed, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police.
