Gas Station Attendant Robbed At Gunpoint In Hudson Valley Police in the Hudson Valley are asking the public for help identifying a man who allegedly robbed a gas station at gunpoint. The incident took place in Orange County 11 p.m., Monday, June 27 at the Citgo gas station in the town of Crawford around on Route 52. The man, who wore a mask during the robbery, held up the employee at gunpoint before fleeing, said the Crawford Police. The investigation is ongoing. Orange County resident A.J. Christie, also known as Arthur Joseph Christie III, of Pine Bush, died on Thursday, April 14, after his motorcycle collided with an SUV in the town of Crawford. The crash took place when Christie, age 34, was heading north on Drexel Drive while riding a 2004 Suzuki and for an unknown reason crossed the double-yellow line and hit a 2004 Honda CRV driven by 25-year-old Morgan McManus of Wallkill, police said. Man Who Worked At Training Center In Area Sexually Abused Minor, State Police Say A 36-year-old man has been accused of sexually abusing a minor for two years while the suspect worked at a training center in the area. Orange County resident Carlos E. Hernandez, of Montgomery, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 23 by state police troopers in the Hudson Valley and charged with first-degree criminal sex act and first-degree sex abuse, both felonies.  An investigation revealed that Hernandez sexually abused the minor between 2010 and 2012 while he was employed at the Golden Shoe Training Center in the town of Crawford, state police said. Robert Marra, of Crawford in Orange County, falsely reported the extent of his injuries to his doctors and independent medical examiners, according to a collaborative investigation by the NYS Department of Financial Services, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. These Hudson Valley Towns Rank Among Highest In State For Most Black Bears Taken In 2018 Hunters in the Hudson Valley were among the most proficient in taking bears, according to the DEC’s Black Bear Harvest summary. During the 2018-2019 hunting season, New Yorkers hunted down 1,295 black bears statewide, a decrease of 125 from the previous year. Of the bears that were hunted, 349 were killed by bow, 66 were killed by a muzzleloader and 11 were taken by youth hunters. In the Southern Zone, 804 bears were killed, 60 percent of which were male, and 491 bears were killed in the Northern Zone. Pilot Reports Engine Failure Before Helicopter Crash The pilot of a 1989 Bell 222A helicopter that crashed in the area said the chopper experienced an engine failure causing the crash and for the helicopter to overturn. The crash took place around 12:38 p.m., Saturday, March 30, near 77 Youngblood Road in Bullville, just west of I-87 in the Town of Crawford in Orange County.  The six onboard, five passengers, who were celebrating a birthday, and the pilot, suffered minor injuries, Crawford Police said.
