Firefighters battled both a car blaze and downed burning wires that began at nearly the same time during a busy morning in Northern Westchester. The incidents happened on Wednesday, April 3 just before 9 a.m., when firefighters in Somers responded to downed burning wires on Route 202 near Todd Road while also being called to the scene of a car blaze in a parking lot on Route 6. Blaze Destroys Car On Busy Parkway In Northern Westchester
A car became completely engulfed in flames on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester. The incident happened on Sunday, March 3 at around 10:15 a.m., when a car fire began on the northbound Saw Mill River Parkway in Hawthorne, according to the Hawthorne Fire Department. Arriving crews found the car overtaken by flames but were quickly able to extinguish them. A tow truck then eventually removed the charred wreckage. The response to the fire took around an hour. No injuries were reported.

Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Road Near Lake In Hudson Valley
A car fire in the Hudson Valley left a busy main road filled with smoke, firefighters said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Feb. 7 around 11 a.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on Route 301 near Canopus Lake in the town of Kent, according to the Cold Spring Fire Company No. 1, which helped respond to the blaze. Arriving fire crews found that the vehicle's occupants had been able to escape unharmed and began extinguishing the blaze. The fire was fully put out by noon, firefighters said. A raging blaze involving two cars sent firefighters on an early morning trip to a school in Northern Westchester. The fire happened on Sunday, July 9 around 1:30 a.m., when members of the Valhalla Fire Department were sent to the EF Academy in Thornwood, where a vehicle had gone up in flames in the parking lot. Car Catches Fire On Busy Road In Westchester County
A fire department in Westchester County was tasked with putting out a car fire on a busy road. The blaze started on Sunday, Nov. 13, around 1:30 p.m. in Purchase on Westchester Ave in the area of the Butcher Bridge, where first responders found a late model 4-series Mercedes on fire in the parking lot of 565 Westchester Ave., according to the Purchase Fire Department. 3 Killed In Fiery Long Island Crash
Three people were killed in a fiery early-morning crash on Long Island. It happened around 5 a.m. Sunday, July 24 in Nassau County on the Northern State Parkway in the area of Exit 30 in the town of North Hempstead, according to state police. One Found Dead After Vehicle Fire On Palisades Interstate Parkway
One person was found dead inside a burning vehicle on the Palisades Interstate Parkway during the early morning hours. The car fire was discovered around 2 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16, in the southbound lane at the Exit 16 ramp in Stony Point by New York State Police, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Pickup Truck Bursts Into Flames After Crash At I-684/Saw Mill Junction
This story has been updated. Smoke was sent billowing through the air when a pickup truck became fully engulfed in flames at the merger of I-684 and the Saw Mill River Parkway on Thursday morning.
