Magnitude 2.5 Earthquake Reported In Upstate NY
A 2.5 magnitude earthquake was reported in upstate New York during the early morning hours. The quake, centered in Saint Regis Falls in Franklin County, close to the Canadian border, hit about 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27. Experts with the US Geological Survey said shaking was felt as far as 31 miles away, but no damage was reported from the quake that was considered "shallow." Lack Of COVID Test Stops Kidnapper's Bid To Cross Canadian Border With Girl In Trunk
A teenage man who was stopped at the Canadian border for lack of a COVID-19 test had kidnapped a 16-year-old from Connecticut, sexually assaulted her, and put her in the trunk of his car, according to police. The kidnapping was reported in Connecticut when the suspect, 19-year-old Christopher Jesus Constanzo, abducted and sexually assaulted the female victim on Thursday, Dec. 2, according to Vermont State Police.
